While the Rest of Montgomery County's Markets Close for the Season, Sango's Is Just Getting Started

"We saw a need for that connection to continue beyond the summer market season," said April Sialana, the organizer behind Sango's newest Tuesday gathering, "and my hope is that Good Ground becomes a fall tradition our community looks forward to year after year." She would know what a gap in the calendar looks like. Sialana already manages the Sango Night Market, the Monday-evening staple that wrapped its season on Labor Day. This new one, called Good Ground Harvest Market, opened fifteen days later at Bible Baptist Church on Prospect Circle, and it is built to run through Thanksgiving week.

If you live in Savannah Lakes, that puts the market in the same general Sango area you already call home. A church that's held Sunday services there since 1959 opened its parking lot on a Tuesday afternoon this month to farm stands, food trucks, and a petting zoo, and the county now has a weekly market running later into the fall than any market before it.

The Monday-to-May gap

Before this year, Sango's calendar had a predictable shape. The Sango Night Market ran Mondays from 4 to 8 p.m., starting the last week of May and closing on Labor Day. Once that ended, the closest weekly food market was the Downtown Clarksville Market at Public Square, a Saturday-morning event that itself winds down in early October. After that, Sango residents were looking at roughly seven months with no local weekly market of any kind, just the occasional monthly pop-up downtown.

Good Ground exists specifically to close that window. It launched on September 22 as what organizers are calling Clarksville's only weekly market built around the fall season, and it's scheduled to run every Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. through November 24. That's a ten-week run timed almost exactly to start where the Night Market left off.

What a Tuesday actually looks like

The lineup for opening season includes Sweeter Days Farm, J's Meats & More, Nashville Farmacy, Davis Family Farm, and Grace & Grains Bakery, alongside additional farmers, artisans, and local businesses filling out the rest of the stalls. For dinner or a snack, Urban Eats' Burgasm and E's Squeezed Lemonade are both on the food vendor list. Kids' activities rotate week to week and have included pony rides, a petting zoo, inflatables, and face painting, with live music as a standing feature. Admission is free, though some individual activities carry their own small fee. Daniel Ingram's local GEICO office is the presenting sponsor for the market's first season.

The tagline organizers picked, "Locally Rooted, Farm to Table," is on the nose for what the market is actually trying to do: keep a supply chain that exists all summer from disappearing the week the calendar flips to fall.

One organizer, two markets, no overlap

The fact that Sialana runs both the Sango Night Market and Good Ground isn't a coincidence worth glossing over. It means the same person who spent the summer coordinating vendors and traffic flow at Real Life Sango Church carried that relationship straight into a second host site fifteen days after the first one closed. For vendors, that continuity matters. A farm that sold produce at the Monday market in August didn't have to pitch a stranger to get a Tuesday slot in September. For shoppers, it means the market has a manager who already knows what worked and what didn't from the same season, in the same part of town, for a lot of the same crowd.

The eight Tuesdays that matter most

Here's the detail that doesn't show up in the announcement releases: the Downtown Clarksville Market closes for the year on October 3. Once that Saturday passes, Good Ground stops being one option among several and becomes the only weekly farmers market operating anywhere in Montgomery County. That status holds for eight straight Tuesdays, from October 6 through November 24.

Market Day / Time 2026 Season Location
Downtown Clarksville Market Saturdays, 8 a.m.–noon May 9 – Oct 3 Public Square
Sango Night Market Mondays, 4–8 p.m. May 25 – Sept 7 Real Life Sango Church
Good Ground Harvest Market Tuesdays, 4–7 p.m. Sept 22 – Nov 24 Bible Baptist Church, Prospect Circle

Line the three up and the pattern is obvious once you see it: every other weekly market in the county has a start date in spring and an end date by early fall. Good Ground is the only one built to run past October, which means for two months it isn't competing with anything. It's the only game left.

If you're planning your Tuesdays around it

The market runs 4 to 7 p.m. every Tuesday at 3102 Prospect Circle through November 24. Parking is on the church property. Admission is free, so the only cost of an evening there is whatever you buy from a stall or a food truck, plus any fee for individual activities. Because the vendor and activity lineup is described as rotating through the season, the petting zoo or pony rides one week isn't a guarantee for the next, which is part of why organizers are framing this as a market worth checking on rather than a fixed weekly formula.

For Savannah Lakes households who spent the summer treating Monday as the night to swing by Sango's market, the adjustment is simple: the night moved to Tuesday, and the season got longer. For anyone who never made it to the Night Market this year, Good Ground is a lower-stakes way to start, since it's a shorter drive from most Savannah Lakes streets than downtown, and it doesn't ask you to commit to a summer's worth of Mondays to feel like a regular.

Whether Good Ground returns next fall or expands beyond ten weeks isn't something the organizers have said yet. What's confirmed is that this year, for the first time, Sango's market calendar didn't go dark after Labor Day.

If Sango's evolving calendar of local markets, restaurants, and events is useful to you, Meg Pritschet keeps an eye on what's changing in and around Savannah Lakes and shares it as she finds it, whether or not a move is anywhere on your radar.
